Until now, the V3 was seen as a favourable alternative to the professional model that Pogacar is riding on its way to the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France double. The previous basic version is now being replaced by the V4. Its carbon frame is to be based on the same technical expertise as the V4R. Among other things, the head tube has the same hourglass shape, which should lead to better aerodynamics than the V3. The geometry is also based on Pogacar's racing machine.
Colnago did not provide any information on individual or complete wheel weights. However, due to the simple aluminium components in the wheels and cockpit, the V4 is likely to be a good deal heavier than the V4Rs; with wheels from Enve and Shimano's Dura-Ace, the high-end bike weighed 7.2 kilograms on the TOUR scales.
Colnago offers three equipment variants in seven frame sizes. All versions are equipped with electronic shifting groupsets from Shimano (105, Ultegra) or SRAM (Rival) and roll on aluminium wheels from Fulcrum. An aluminium handlebar from Deda is clamped into the stem as standard, but a carbon handlebar from our own production is also available for an extra charge. With prices ranging from 4730 to 5690 euros, the V4 costs around a third of the V4R.
