The AR3 shares the frame shape with the AR FRD. The additional weight compared to the top model results from the use of cheaper carbon fibres and a heavier steering bearing. The fact that the aero performance of the AR3 is initially significantly worse is mainly due to the standard wheels. To maximise the aerodynamic potential, there is no way around fast wheels. With the Swiss-Side wheels, the bike is the only one of the affordable models to make it into the phalanx of the fastest bikes in this test. For price-conscious speed hunters, the AR3 is therefore a hot tip - especially as the equipment with the complete Ultegra groupset including direct mount brakes is of high quality and the standard wheels are very solid training wheels.
