Northwave's relentless pursuit of excellence led to the development of the Veloce Extremea shoe designed and manufactured in Italy that sets new standards in terms of performance and combines comfort with innovative design and technology. The Veloce Extreme epitomises Northwave's commitment to developing cycling equipment that meets the needs of dedicated riders, with no detail overlooked. Filippo Ganna, the hour record holder, was both an inspiration and an active participant in this project. Ganna led a team of over 50 riders who spent countless hours testing the Veloce Extreme on legendary bike trails, including iconic climbs and challenging terrain. The Veloce Extreme embodies a passion for cycling and maximising performance with every pedal stroke, giving riders the confidence to tackle any challenge.
The outstanding feature of the Veloce Extreme is the new Powershape HT sole, which is made from 100% unidirectional carbon. Compared to the previous model, the Powershape HT sole increases stability by 9 %, reduces perceived effort by 15 % and increases maximum power output by 4 %. This advanced sole design ensures that every watt of power is effectively transferred to the pedals, making it ideal for high-intensity riding. Winner of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2024, the Veloce Extreme features replaceable rubber heel pads and large air channels that improve thermoregulation and air circulation. The heel pads increase the durability of the shoe, while the air channels ensure that the feet stay cool. The sole is compatible with Speedplay pedals, which complies with Northwave standards and enables a versatile setup. The 2.0 ARS technology ("Anatomic Reticular Support") provides additional support for the foot by maintaining the correct position of the foot to optimise power transmission. The micro-perforated upper with underlap construction provides a snug fit without pressure points. Laser-cut ventilation increases comfort by maximising airflow and keeping feet cool and dry.
Each pair of Veloce Extreme shoes comes with two dual density footbeds for a customised fit: a 5mm slim fit and a 3mm regular fit, allowing the rider to fine-tune the fit. This customisation helps accommodate different foot shapes and preferences, improving both comfort and performance.
