Around 66 kilometres before the finish of the 11th stage of the Giro d'Italia 2023, Spaniard Oscar Rodriguez (Movistar) lost control of his bike on a descent, hit a traffic sign and crashed into a house wall.
The 28-year-old was conscious, but was unable to continue the race. Four kilometres earlier, third overall Tao Geoghegan Hart (Ineos Grenadiers) had crashed on stage 11 of the Giro d'Italia 2023 and had to be taken away in an ambulance. As a result, Lennard Kämna from Bremen automatically moves up to sixth place in the overall standings. Pascal Ackermann (UAE Team Emirates) secured the stage win.
